I am a car fanatic from Ohio where I have lived since I was three years old. I began driving with some assistance at the age of 5 on the back roads of Gallia County, Ohio. My first driving experience began on the lap of my mother and stepdad shifting the five gears of a VW Rabbit. This is where my obsession with cars began and pumps through my veins to the present. I began driving solo at age nine (as soon as my feet could hit the pedals while seated) in order to move cars from auctions to my father's junk yard and after repair to his car lots. Friends would tell you that I was born with a love for cars, but I can can tell you the love was cultivated by those around me. When you get a chance ask me about the time my mother jumped a set of railroad tracks at 60mph! In 1996, my father gave me my first car, a 1984 Chevy Nova that came in an awful faded diarrhea brownish-yellow color. Shortly after receiving the car I began to notice that the vehicle struggled up hills. My father took a look at the car and quickly diagnosed that the spark plug wire was not attached to spark plug #3.
That was the moment that I realized that there was so much more to cars than just jumping in and casually driving. So I began to learn the ins and outs of all the components of automobiles and reading automotive magazines. After obtaining a better understanding of how an engine worked and what made a car great, I decided to purchase my first car. She was a 1990 Eagle Talon TSI AWD that I affectionately called, "Red Sonia". It was my first love affair with a car and as I learned more about the Talon's Diamond Star Motors (DSM) engine and turbo, I fell madly in love. I would tinker on the car's engine and my first upgrade was a manual turbo boost controller that I proudly installed with no assistance other than the internet. After I cranked the PSI up +2 over factory defaults and felt the immediately surge in power I was hooked. The rest is history and I now share my love for all things turbos and tuning with you each week on the podcast bearing the same name. If you too love cars and want to extract the most out of your vehicle then sit back and enjoy...
